Automation Engineer – Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript, BDD)

We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright-based UI and API test automation using TypeScript/JavaScript. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cucumber BDD, Page Object Model (POM), and CI/CD integration.

This role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks, enabling multi-browser testing, and ensuring high-quality releases through robust automation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end automation framework development using Playwright, TypeScript, and Cucumber (BDD).
• Collaborate with QA, Development, and DevOps teams to define automation strategy and ensure release quality.
• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM) and reusable components.
• Develop and execute UI and API automation tests with validation across multiple request types.
• Implement BDD scenarios using Gherkin, step definitions, and tagging strategies.
• Enable multi-browser and parallel execution across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, npm scripts, and environment configurations.
• Analyze failures, debug issues, and improve framework stability and performance.
• Generate and manage test reports (Cucumber HTML / Allure) via CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience in test automation with strong Playwright expertise (UI + API).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+), including async/await and OOP concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, including locators, assertions, and debugging tools.
• Strong experience with Cucumber (BDD) and Gherkin-based test design.
• Solid understanding of Page Object Model (POM) and automation framework design.
• Experience with API automation, including request/response validation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with test reporting tools such as Cucumber HTML or Allure.
• Exposure to multi-browser testing, parallel execution, and environment configurations.
• Nice-to-have: SQL/database validation, BrowserStack, or AI-assisted tools.
