We are seeking a talented and motivated AWS Cloud Network Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our dynamic and growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimising AWS cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on networking, security, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance hybrid cloud environments and ensure high-performance, secure, and reliable systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimise AWS environments with a focus on scalability, security, and network performance
- Design and implement AWS networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, Direct Connect, and VPNs
- Collaborate with solution architects and network engineers to re-architect hybrid cloud networks
- Manage IAM roles, security groups, policies, and ensure compliance with security standards
- Automate infrastructure and deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
- Monitor network traffic, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues related to latency, DNS, and routing
- Maintain and document network architecture, configurations, and operational playbooks
- Participate in project planning, change management, incident response, and system reviews
- Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to support deployments and infrastructure improvements
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud infrastructure management
- Strong expertise in AWS networking services including VPC, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, subnetting, BGP, and VPNs
- Proficiency in Linux systems, security configurations, and automation tools
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Scripting knowledge in Python or Bash is an advantage
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic
- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + AWS) is a plus
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
- AWS certification (e.g., SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect – Associate) preferred
