Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, IT, DevOps, engineering) to define scope, timelines, and objectives for WAF migration.
- Design and define WAF & DDoS configurations aligned with business requirements, risk profile, and security best practices across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Lead the implementation and migration to Cloudflare WAF, including DNS, SSL, traffic routing, and security policies.
- Configure and optimize WAF rules, bot management, rate limiting, CDN, and DDoS protection features. Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure security effectiveness, performance, and zero/minimal downtime during migration.
- Monitor post-migration performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize security configurations.
- Maintain detailed documentation, provide stakeholder updates, and support knowledge transfer for ongoing WAF management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Cloudflare WAF Implementation projects, specifically migration from existing WAF to Cloudflare.
- Strong expertise in Cloudflare platforms, with hands-on experience configuring and managing WAF, CDN, DNS, and security settings.
- In-depth understanding of web security principles, DDoS protection, bot mitigation, SSL/TLS, and application layer protection.
- Strong knowledge of Cloudflare’s security features (e.g., WAF, rate limiting, bot management, firewall rules, IP reputation).
- Familiarity with WAF configurations and security settings.
- Proficiency with DNS management and SSL/TLS configuration.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving performance and security-related issues in a cloud environment.
- Cloudflare WAF and security tools.
- WAF configuration of CI\CD pipelines and tools.
- Experience with CDN (Content Delivery Network) configurations and DNS management tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
