Role

Technical leadership role focused on driving quality engineering excellence across diverse

products and delivery streams. This individual will champion best practices through hands-on involvement, establishing robust testing strategies and automation frameworks while mentoring engineering talent. The successful candidate will navigate complex technical hurdles, refine engineering workflows, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement effective quality engineering practices across manual, automated, and non-functional testing.

• Develop test strategies, estimation approaches, and quality plans that align with product delivery objectives.

• Drive automation initiatives and continuously improve test frameworks, tooling, and CI/CD integration.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Quality Engineers, fostering continuous learning and engineering excellence.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify quality risks early and recommend pragmatic solutions to support timely and reliable product releases.

• Define, monitor, and report on quality metrics to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

• Contribute to the enhancement of testing standards, engineering practices, and release processes.

• Support resource planning and provide technical guidance across multiple concurrent projects.

• Actively participate in hands-on testing, automation development, and troubleshooting of complex quality-related issues when required..

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in playing a Senior QE Lead role with strong hands-on involvement in testing and automation.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide Quality Engineers while fostering a collaborative engineering culture.

• Strong experience working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective quality strategies.

• Extensive experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and integrating them into modern CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, enabling effective collaboration with software engineering teams on quality improvements.

• Experience in test planning, risk assessment and prioritisation within Agile delivery environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to advocate for quality while balancing delivery objectives.

• Knowledge of performance testing, security testing and engineering metrics such as DORA is desirable.

• Experience working within consulting environments or across multiple industry domains would be advantageous.
