SAP SAC Planning Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) Planning Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide planning solutions. This role will focus on delivering scalable financial planning, forecasting, and reporting solutions while ensuring seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and other enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across SAP Analytics Cloud Planning, SAP BPC and modern SAP data platforms, along with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall SAP experience including SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in SAP SAC Planning architecture/design.
• Proven experience in at least one end-to-end greenfield SAC Planning implementation.
• Strong expertise in: SAP Analytics Cloud Planning (modeling, data actions, advanced formulas), SAP BPC (Classic & Embedded), Financial planning processes (budgeting, forecasting, allocations).
• Hands-on experience with integration technologies (APIs, OData, CDS Views, AMDP ABAP).
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and performance optimization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Knowledge of data modeling and enterprise data architecture.
• Experience in migrating BPC planning solutions to SAC.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Design and architect end-to-end planning solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning.
• Define architecture standards, data models, and integration strategies across SAP landscapes.
• Implement best practices in SAC modeling, including advanced formulas, data actions, allocations, and multi-dimensional planning.
• Design planning models covering CAPEX, OPEX, Revenue, HR, and Depreciation scenarios.

Implementation & Project Leadership

• Lead full lifecycle SAC Planning implementations, including at least one greenfield project.
• Drive solution design workshops and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to delivery timelines, quality standards, and best practices.

Integration & Data Management

• Integrate SAC with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP BPC, SAP Datasphere, and external systems.
• Design and optimize data flows using: OData Services, APIs, CDS Views, AMDP ABAP, Calculation Views.
• Work with live and import data connections for real-time and batch processing.
• Support migration of SAP BPC (Optimized for S/4HANA) planning data into SAC models (desirable).

Technical Development

• Develop SAC Planning models including data acquisition, modeling, story creation, and content management.
• Apply scripting and logic using: Advanced Formulas (SAC), FOX Formulas, Script Logic. (BPC – Classic & Embedded)
• Write and optimize SQL queries for large datasets and complex reporting requirements.

Support & Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide expert guidance to business users, developers, and technical teams.
• Conduct training sessions and prepare technical/user documentation.
• Communicate complex data concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
