We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Modeller to join our growing team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Overall experience should be 8 - 12+ years in data modelling / data architecture roles.
- Strong hands-on experience in logical and physical data modelling across RDBMS and NoSQL platforms.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms in cloud and on-prem environments.
Must Haves:
- Strong expertise in data modelling standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience setting up and running a Data Modelling COE (standards, review gates, templates).
- Proven experience in logical & physical database design, ER diagrams, schema design, and PTM management.
- Strong experience with legacy data model modernization and restructuring.
- Hands-on experience with RDBMS and NoSQL data platforms.
- Solid understanding of data governance: cataloging, lineage, access control, encryption/tokenization.
- Experience with data migration strategies and cutover planning.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
- Hands-on exposure to CDC, ETL/ELT pipelines (ADF, Glue, Kafka, NiFi, Databricks, Logic Apps).
- Experience implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for data platforms.
- Performance tuning experience including indexing, partitioning, query optimization, and Spark tuning.
- Experience with multi-tenant data architectures and workload isolation.
- Exposure to the public sector or regulated environments.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Establish and operationalize the Data Modelling Centre of Excellence (COE).
- Define modelling standards, conventions, versioning, and operating models.
- Lead logical and physical data model design, ER diagrams, and schema documentation.
- Drive data governance initiatives including lineage, cataloging, and compliance readiness.
- Design and execute legacy schema modernization for scalability, resilience, and cost optimization.
- Architect multi-tenant data strategies and workload isolation models.
- Define and lead end-to-end data migration approaches across RDBMS, NoSQL, and cloud platforms.
- Orchestrate CDC, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integrations.
- Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and SLA-backed observability.
- Implement automation, CI/CD, and data quality gates to reduce manual intervention.
- Define reconciliation, cutover, validation, and rollback strategies.
