We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Lead Developer - Mobile Apps to join our growing team.

Profile Summary

The ideal candidate is responsible for delivering high quality technology solutions that support client requirements, the technical direction, quality, reliability and evolution of mobile and device-based applications. In this role you will specialise in the design, development and support of mobile and device-based applications, including native and cross-platform solutions.

The ideal candidate will work on applications that operate in high-stakes, time-critical environments, often with device constraints, offline operation, performance considerations, and accessibility requirements and will be expected to provide leadership & guidance to the team and apply strong engineering judgement to balance user experience, reliability, security and operational risk across mobile platforms.

Requirements

• Strong experience in building native or cross platform mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of mobile application lifecycles and familiarity with app store release processes, versioning and deployment strategies.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving production issues in mobile environments.
• Experience in integrating mobile applications with backend APIs and web platforms, including security and versioning APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a willingness to mentor and coach team members.
• Experience building applications that support offline usage, synchronisation and intermittent connectivity.
• Experience with mobile testing strategies (device testing, automation, performance profiling).
• Experience integrating AI-enabled capabilities into mobile or device-based applications.
• Experience with .NET MAUI (Microsoft's Multi platform App UI).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain mobile/cross-platform apps for large-scale, high-concurrency environments, considering device constraints, OS changes, app store rules, and offline scenarios.
• Ensure app resilience to OS upgrades, device fragmentation, and hardware variability.
• Review code and give feedback to improve team output.
• Identify and reduce mobile/shared technical debt.
• Integrate automation/AI into mobile apps where appropriate, with sound engineering judgment and fallbacks.
• Establish mobile engineering standards, patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Collaborate actively with the SCRUM team for on-time sprint delivery.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across apps, devices, and backend integrations, including large-scale event specific device behaviors.
• Participate in post-incident reviews, focusing on systemic improvements.
• Provide timely, clear, and concise proactive and reactive updates to stakeholders.
• Review project communication/documentation, providing constructive feedback.
• Participate in stakeholder workshops as required.
• Build team competency by guiding, establishing and evolving app development standards and shared components.
• Lead and coach developers on mobile architecture, testing and performance optimization.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, testing and documentation while retaining accountability for all outcomes.
