We are seeking an experienced SAP H4S4-Payroll Consultant with deep expertise in Australian payroll regulations and Employee Central Pay (ECP) to join our team.
This role will be responsible for managing the existing SAP H4S4 Payroll solution and also to lead any future SAP ECP implementations while ensuring full compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and local legislation. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, managing complex stakeholder relationships and delivering innovative payroll solutions that drive business transformation. This role requires hands-on implementation experience, integration knowledge, and leadership capability over a 12+ year SAP career.
Responsibilities
- Lead at least 2 complete end-to-end SAP payroll implementations from blueprint to go-live and post-implementation support
- Configure and customize SAP H4S4 payroll systems including payroll schemas, calculation rules, and wage type configurations
- Design and implement payroll control records, payroll calendars, and payroll area configurations
- Perform system testing, user acceptance testing coordination, and production cutover activities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and process workflows
- Ensure full compliance with Australian payroll legislation, including:
ATO tax calculations and reporting
PAYG, Superannuation, STP (Single Touch Payroll)
Fair Work requirements and Australia-specific wage rules
- Configure Australian payroll legislation updates and regulatory changes in SAP systems
- Manage Australian payroll reporting requirements and statutory declarations
- Act as a trusted payroll compliance advisor to business and HR stakeholders.
- Design and manage integrations across:
Bank interfaces for payroll processing
Timesheet integrations with SAP SuccessFactors
Employee master data integrations between SAP SuccessFactors EC and SAP Payroll
- Troubleshoot and optimize payroll interfaces to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
- Work closely with SAP Employee Central and H4S4 Payroll teams to ensure seamless data flow.
- Support hybrid and transition scenarios from SAP HCM to SAP H4S4.
- Collaborate on system enhancements, upgrades, and payroll transformation initiatives.
- Manage employee master data replication between EC and H4S4 systems.
- Engage and manage customer stakeholders, including HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT leadership.
- Lead workshops, design discussions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Own delivery outcomes, risks, timelines, and quality for payroll workstreams.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior payroll consultants.
Mandatory Experience
- 12+ years of overall SAP experience, with a strong focus on Payroll.
- Minimum 2 end-to-end SAP Payroll implementations for Australian Payroll.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
SAP Payroll for Australia
SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Implementation
SAP HCM / H4S4 Payroll configuration
- In-depth understanding of Australian ATO regulations and payroll legislation.
- Proven experience with bank, timesheet, and employee master integrations.
